Girl Child Dress Up Closet

so my ILs wanted to know what to get the girl child for Christmas (2011) and I thought long and hard, but realized she LOVES clothes and to play princess and dress up so i suggested a dress up closet to hold her all clothes (she already has a princess vanity)

so it was now time to search to see what to get for her...

this is what they did.

Bought a simple 3 or 4 shelf book case in white (or whatever color you desire)
similar to this
remove the shelves and get a small tension rod (or shower curtain rod) but make sure its small.. and if you want to be super fancy then get a super fancy rod.

we put hooks on the outside of the "closet" for pocketbooks or whatever she wants to hang.
they put princess stickers and this is what we got

4th of July Bundt Cake

ngredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® white cake mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • Red food coloring
  • Blue food coloring
  • Red/White/Blue sprinkles
  • Pillsbury Easy Frost (Red/White/Blue)
Directions:
Heat oven to 325°F. Generously grease a 12-cup tube cake pan. Make cake batter as directed on box. Pour 1 cup of batter into a bowl and add the red food coloring, mix well. Pour another cup of the batter into a bowl and add the blue food coloring, mix well.
Pour the red cake mix into the bottom of the greased pan. Carefully pour the white batter over the red batter in pan.  Then carefully pour the blue batter over the white batter.
The blue batter does not need to cover the white batter completely.  It looks better if it just forms a ring in the center of the white batter.
Bake as directed on box or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. Turn pan upside down onto cooling rack that is placed over a cookie sheet. Cool cake completely, about 30 minutes.
Once cake is cooled, spray frosting and cover with sprinkles
and this is what you get (yes this is the cake i made)

Egg Frittatas

Another YUMMY brunch recipe, i made today.

4 large eggs
1/4 cup half-and-half
1/2 teaspoon salt
Assorted mix-ins (such as shredded cheese, diced vegetables, and cooked and chopped bacon, ham, or sausage)
**i used peppers & cheddar cheese)

Heat your oven to 350ยบ F and coat a 6-cup muffin pan with nonstick cooking spray.

Whisk together the eggs, half-and-half, and salt in a medium bowl, then evenly distribute the egg mixture among the muffin cups.

Add about 2 tablespoons of mix-ins to each cup.

Bake the frittatas until they are puffy and the edges are golden brown, about 20 to 25 minutes.

(If necessary, run a butter knife around the edge of each one to loosen them before removing them from the pan.)

Makes 6 frittatas.

**I froze the left overs and if i want one, i just pop it into the microwave oven for a fast and quick breakfast!

French Toast Souffle

The HIT of the party... easy and VERY VERY yummy

1 Challah Loaf
8 (ounces) cream cheese, softened
8 large eggs
1-1/2 cups milk
2/3 cup half and half cream
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons powdered sugar

cut bread into 1" cubes
spray a large pyrex baking dish
place bread in

In a large bowl, beat cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in milk, half and half, 1/2 cup of the maple syrup, and vanilla until mixture is smooth. Pour cream cream cheese mixture over the bread; cover, and refrigerate overnight.

Remove souffle from refrigerator, and let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Bake uncovered, for 50-60 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Pour about 3/4 cup maple syrup (or drizzle to desired taste) over souffle, and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve warm.
